The 40th annual WADA Workshop has ended, and we hope that you enjoyed
your involvement with the annual convention of athletic directors from all
around the state. Almost 400
individuals from schools across Wisconsin
and nearly 100 vendors were on hand for the event held in Appleton.

DEWITT TO SPEAK AT FCA BREAKFAST
Derek Dewitt will speak at the Fellowship
of Christian Athletes Breakfast during
the WADA Workshop at the Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton. The head football
coach at Trinity International
University in Deerfield, Ill., Dewitt will make his
presentation on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 a.m. Details.

PAT RICHTER TO JOIN DR. LONG ON THE PODIUM
AS ALVAREZ HAS LAST-MINUTE SCHEDULE CHANGE
Pat Richter, former Director of Athletics at the University of Wisconsin,
will
join Dr. Steven Long as a keynote speaker at the 2006 WADA Workshop.
Barry Alvarez had to cancel his appearance at the upcoming convention
due to a last-minute change in his schedule. The WADA Executive Board
is pleased to announce that Richter will appear at the podium for the
Opening Session. Info about

LANCE ALLEN OF WTMJ 4 TV IS MASTER OF CEREMONIES
FOR WADA AWARDS LUNCHEON SPONSORED BY HEALY
Lance Allen, the sports director at WTMJ 4 TV in Milwaukee, will serve
as the Master of Ceremonies for the WADA
Awards Luncheon sponsored
by Healy. The luncheon will
be held on Monday, Nov. 6, starting at 12:30 p.m.
when the prestigious WADA awards will be presented. Read

WADA VICE PRESIDENT TO BE ELECTED
The position of Vice President with the WADA will be voted upon during the
40th annual WADA Workshop to be held this November at the Paper Valley Hotel
in downtown Appleton. There are
two candidates for the position, and each was
asked to submit some basic info that the membership could review:

Each of the seven Districts will hold their Fall Caucus
meeting during the
WADA Workshop. This year’s
meetings will be held on Sunday, Nov. 5,

PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL ITEMS
ARE REALLY BOARD-OPERATING ITEMS
After additional review, the three items approved by the WADA Executive Board
at its October meeting are WADA Board-operating matters and therefore will not
go before the membership for a vote during the WADA
Annual Meeting, which
will be held on Nov. 7 in conjunction with the 2006 WADA Workshop.

The due date for the WADA Membership Benefit Form has been extended

The WADA Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 9:00 a.m. as part of
the 40th annual WADA Workshop, to be held at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel

BOARD PROPOSES CONSTITUTION CHANGES
Three items approved by the WADA Executive Board at its meeting on Sunday,
Oct. 1,
will go before the WADA membership during the WADA Annual Meeting, which will
be held Tuesday, Nov. 7, in conjunction with the 2006 WADA Workshop.
The items, which met with unanimous approval from the WADA Board, are:
1 – WADA Photographer Criteria.
2 – WADA President’s Award.
3 – WADA Workshop Speakers Fee.

One of the fun aspects of the WADA Workshop is when door prizes are

There are six individuals who will be recipients of the first-ever WADA
