Smoking Ban – City of Appleton

Any attendee to the 2007 WADA Workshop, who is a smoker, should be aware
of a city ordinance, effective July 1, 2005. It PROHIBITS indoor smoking
in ALL workplaces, bars, restaurants, and indoors of all public places located
in the City of Appleton. The penalty for a citation, including court costs and
related costs, starts at $274 and could go as high as $739 per offense.

There are some exemptions in the ban, including hotel rooms designated for smoking… so, if necessary, request a smoking room when making your hotel reservation.

If you are a smoker, it may be financially wise for you to review the ordinance…
before you make a sizeable donation to the City of Appleton Police Dept.

A similar smoking ban also is in effect in various towns or cities near Appleton.
