SIX RECIPIENTS TO RECEIVE WADA SCHOLARSHIP
There are six individuals who will be recipients of the WADA Scholarship,
a $500 award, during the 2008 WADA Workshop. Read
the list of recipients,
as selected by a special WADA committee.
FALL CAUCUS – AGENDA NOW
AVAILABLE
The agenda is now available for the annual Fall
Caucus for each of the seven
Districts. Remember, as
announced last month, those meetings during the
WADA Workshop will be held on Monday morning,
Nov. 10, from
8 o’clock a.m. until 8:45 a.m. at the Paper Valley Hotel. That is a major
change from previous years, when they were held on Sunday afternoon.

YOUR PHOTO IS REQUESTED
The WADA Board has requested that
ALL athletic
directors plan to stop by the
VIP Photography Booth on Sunday evening of the WADA Workshop to have
their mug shot photo taken. It
is important that the WADA have a file available
of current photos of the WADA members, and VIP Photography has offered
to assist in this endeavor. More

WADA BRIEFCASES AVAILABLE
Several AD’s have inquired about
obtaining a nice, leather briefcase… embroidered with
the WADA logo. You can purchase
such an item at the Sports Impressions booth
during the 2008 WADA Workshop, or, select from the many other
items they will
have available during the hours that vendors will display their items during
the
annual convention in Appleton. Read more

VITERBO COLLEGE CREDIT
Earn one college credit from Viterbo University regarding what you learn at
the
WADA Workshop in November in Appleton.
You can sign up for this credit
each year that you attend the WADA Workshop. Download the paperwork
PRIOR
to the Workshop. The info is the
same material that was sent in October
to each AD via e-mail. See
the details about the Viterbo course credit.

WADA VICE PRESIDENT TO BE
ELECTED
The position of Vice President with the WADA will be voted upon during the
42nd annual WADA Workshop to be held this November at the Paper Valley Hotel
in downtown Appleton. There is
one individual who filed the paperwork by the
deadline for the position; Pam Huston of Wausau West was asked submit some
basic info that the membership could review. Read

BILL VICKROY, CAA IS MASTER OF
CEREMONIES
FOR WADA AWARDS LUNCHEON SPONSORED BY HEALY
Bill Vickroy, CAA, athletic director at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High
School, will
serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the WADA
Awards Luncheon sponsored
by Healy. The luncheon will
be held on Monday, Nov. 10, starting at 12:30 p.m.
when the prestigious WADA awards will be presented. Read

AGENDA SET FOR WADA ANNUAL MEETING
The agenda
is set for the WADA Annual Meeting to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 11,
at 9:00 a.m. as part of the 42nd annual WADA Workshop. The site of the 2008
Workshop is the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in downtown Appleton. Read more

MATT BOLLANT TO SPEAK AT FCA BREAKFAST
The guest speaker at the Fellowship
of Christian Athletes Breakfast during the
WADA Workshop at the Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton will be Matt Bollant.
He is in his 2nd year as the head women’s basketball coach at the University
of
Wisconsin-Green Bay. More

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED FOR WADA WORKSHOP
Jack Roberts and Dr. Tom Steiner, two
nationally-known individuals, each will be
a keynote speaker at different sessions for the 2008 statewide convention of
the
Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association.
Roberts has been the executive
director of the Michigan High School Athletic
Association for more than 20 years.
Dr. Steiner has been a professional speaker,
enter“TRAIN”er, management consultant and teacher for the past 20 years.
The two will speak when the 42nd annual WADA Workshop takes place at the

WOMEN’S AD CAUCUS INFO ANNOUNCED
There will be a Women’s AD Caucus
during the 2008 WADA Workshop at the
Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton, and this year it will be held on Sunday
evening,
Nov. 9, from 5:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m.
That is a major change from previous years,

MEMBERSHIP TO VOTE ON MISSION, VISION, PURPOSE
The WADA membership will vote on
a proposed change in the wording of the
organization’s Mission, Vision and Purpose statement. The voting will occur on
Tuesday, Nov. 11, during the WADA Annual Meeting in conjunction with the
2008 WADA Workshop in Appleton.

DOOR PRIZES NEEDED FOR WADA WORKSHOP
One of the fun aspects of the WADA Workshop is when door prizes are
awarded throughout the event, and your help is needed to identify items.

Several of the Workshop forms are due soon. Check the due date listed on each form
in the on-line
Registration packet:
1 – Workshop
Attendee Benefit Order Form --- Sept. 26.
2 – Workshop
Registration Form ---- Oct. 17.
3 –
Leadership Training Registration Form --- Oct. 17.
You must send in at least TWO forms -- one form
to register for the Workshop…
and… the other to receive a WADA Workshop Attendee Benefit Gift at the event.
Plus, if you want to register for the LTC offerings, you need to complete
that form as

If you would like to join the WADA, you will
become a member by sending in
the Registration form and fees for the annual WADA Workshop in November.

WADA SPOUSE-GUEST PROGRAM – DURING THE WORKSHOP
This year we’re
doing something a little different than in the past regarding the
Spouse-Guest
Program as part of the 2008 WADA Workshop. The craft project this year will be done
off-site, just a few blocks from the Workshop venue. But there will be plenty of
time for
socializing, camaraderie, and, of course, shopping – all in conjunction with
the event to be
held at the Paper Valley Hotel. Read
