     Registration, Housing & other details – 2005 Workshop

 

 

 

 Registration materials will NOT be mailed for the 2005 WADA Workshop…
but will be handled entirely on the WADA web site.  To go to the page with
the Registration Packet, please click here.

The on-line packet has all of the forms you need to register for the Workshop,
arrange housing, and many other important details regarding the 2005 event.

More details will be announced here on the WADA web site regarding the
event schedule, hotel diagram / layout, vendors, and other pertinent details for
this year’s event.  Mark the dates on your calendar, and make plans to attend
the 39th annual event!

 

 

 

 

     PAC show Nov. 5 – during the Workshop weekend

 

 

 

 

  Yamato:  The Drummers of Japan
The sound of distant rumbling thunder rolls in from the land of Japan, as Yamato:  The Drummers of Japan will perform
at the
Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, located
1 block from the WADA Workshop site.

Through the mists of ancient battlefields
and exotic perfumes of the imperial court,
the taiko drum has been used to inspire fear in enemy armies and celebrate Japan’s rich

 

cultural heritage. From the delicate tapping of falling rain to the explosion of rhythmic exhilaration, Yamato brings new and youthful vigor to taiko drumming.

     Annual Meeting – held during WADA Workshop

 

 

 

 

The WADA Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 9:00 a.m. as part of
the 39th annual WADA Workshop, to be held at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel
in downtown Appleton.

An AGENDA for the Annual Meeting is available on this web site in a pdf format,
and it will also be available at the Workshop site.

 

 

 

     Awards Luncheon  ~  Sutton: Master of Ceremonies

 

 

 

 

Daron Sutton, the voice of the Milwaukee Brewers,
will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the
WADA Awards Luncheon for the 39th annual
Workshop.

The luncheon will be on Monday, Nov. 7, starting
at 1:15 p.m. when the prestigious WADA awards
will be presented.

The event takes place at the Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton from Nov. 5-8.

Included in the awards to be presented:  the WADA Years of Service awards,

plus several other special awards:
     - Andy Anderson Award to Geoff Steinbach of Arrowhead,
     - an NIAAA award to Scott Lindgren of the Kenosha Schools,

     - the Retired Athletic Director Award of Merit to Gayle Wilfong of Fond du Lac,
     - an NFHS Citation Nominee honor to Don Dalton of Wautoma,
     - the NIAAA State Award of Merit Award to Pete Miller of Merrill,
     - the District Athletic Director of the Year awards, and,

     - the State Athletic Director of the Year award.

 The awards are sponsored by HEALY.

 

 

 

 

     Cell Phones – during the WADA Workshop

 

 

 

 

PLEASE plan to silence or mute ALL cell phones and pagers throughout the
entire WADA Workshop.

Be considerate… if you get an important call, please step OUTSIDE of the room
into a hallway, to avoid distracting the others attending the Workshop.  THANKS!

 

 

 

 

     District Fall Caucus – during WADA Workshop

 

 

 

 

Each of the seven Districts will hold their Fall Caucus meeting during the
WADA Workshop.  This year’s meetings will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6,
from 4:30 p.m. until 5:15 p.m. at the Paper Valley Hotel.

Rooms assigned to each District meeting are in the Schedule, or also appear
on the District News page of this web site.

Elections will be held in Districts 1-3-5-7, plus a Gender Rep for District 2.

 

 

 

 

     Fellowship Christian Athletes Breakfast

 

 

 

 

Cal Barr will speak at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Breakfast on Tuesday,
Nov. 8, at 7:30 a.m. during the 39th annual WADA Workshop at the Paper Valley
Hotel in Appleton.  His presentation will be “360 Sports.”

for housing during the Workshop, and you are encouraged to do this ASAP!

     LTC offerings, CAA exam – during 2005 Workshop

 

 

 

 

Several choices are available during the 2005 Workshop weekend for the Leadership
Training Courses that athletic directors may select.  The courses are optional.

On Sunday, three courses (501, 504 & 514) will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., plus the CAA Exam will be offered at 1:45 p.m. Sunday.  On Monday, three other
courses (502, 506 & 511) are offered from 4:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.  Information about
the various courses may be found with the on-line Registration Packet on this WADA
web site.

Be sure to download the form and informational page about the courses from the
Registration Pack on this web site… and return the form by the due date of Oct. 18
if you plan to attend any of the LTC courses.  Registrations will NOT be accepted
after that date.

Registration for the CAA exam is due to the NIAAA office by 30 days prior to the
exam date – or Oct. 6.

     Middle School / Junior High AD’s

 

 

 

 

     Several sessions during the 2005 Workshop will focus specifically on the
     needs of Junior High / Middle School athletic directors…….  so you’re
     encouraged to register for the Workshop / join WADA if you’re
     a middle level AD.  To find out how to join the WADA, check out

     More details regarding those mini-sessions will be available later this fall,
     when the entire schedule is announced.

 

 

 

 

     Retired AD’s – Volunteers are needed

 

 

 

 

Any retired athletic director who would like to help out at the 2005 Workshop
in Appleton this fall should contact Jim Scandin, the Retired AD Liaison to the
WADA Executive Board.

Tasks generally needing volunteer help include working on-site at the registration
table in the check-in area during the first two days of the event, the 50-50 raffles,
and awarding of door prizes.

Your help is needed, and greatly appreciated.
