III.                  Discussion about District II Door Prize on Tuesday

…… Many thanks to Wojo’s Tours of Wittenberg for donating an overnight gaming package for two.

IV.               Discussion on Topics for Tuesday’s Open Forum

·        Volleyball seeding/hosting concerns – Should there be a reward for being a higher seed?  Now the higher seeds host on an “off” night and then lower seeds get the next date which is usually a non-school night.  Why can’t higher seeds host straight through to predetermined sectionals like in hockey?

·        Track & Field Sectionals – Travel is becoming excessive and the events are on school nights.  Solutions?

·        Hockey & 17 minute periods – Concerns are more pay for officials, more costs with more ice time and longer crowd control issues.  Proponents say 17 minute periods offer more participation opportunities and is a natural progression from 12 minute Bantam and into 20 minute college time.

·        Sportsmanship Initiative – Summit to be held in Oshkosh in Fall 2002.  More conferences should develop sportsmanship conferences.

·        State Tournament Supervisor Admissions – Can’t the WIAA allow free admissions for designated crowd control personnel from participating schools?  Money is spent for subs and for travel and the ”yellow jacket” security people usually rely on our school supervisors to really do the work.
